As a person with slight medical anxiety he made sure my vsg surgery was explained thoroughly and that I knew what to expect every step of the way. He addressed every question and concern I had regardless of how silly I felt the question might be. He never made me feel badly about  asking questions even when I have a list full. He is quick to respond even now if anything comes up. My surgery had 0 complications and I am moving along so well through my recovery. I am 5 weeks post op this Tuesday and I am so thankful I chose to have my bariatric surgery with him. He is certainly an amazing doctor in his field. Dr. Siegal is an outstanding physician whose knowledge, communication, and compassion truly set him apart. He takes his time to explain every detail of my condition and answers all my questions thoroughly, making sure I fully understand my situation. His communication is clear, easy to follow, and always delivered with patience and respect. He listens attentively and genuinely cares about his patients’ well being.

His YouTube videos are equally impressive. He explains each procedure with clarity, purpose, and transparency. It is remarkable how he uses his platform to educate the community about how procedures are performed, what outcomes to expect, and why certain interventions are necessary. His open communication builds trust long before you ever step into the exam room.

Dr. Siegal’s bedside manner is excellent. When I needed urgent surgery, he came to my room, explained everything calmly, and made sure I felt informed and supported. No one had an answer until Dr. Siegel. He did surgery and it was a success …. No cough! He was the only one willing to take me serious. He listened. At the consultation he explained everything so well and was straightforward which we really appreciate. He’s got a very nice manner about him. And at the hospital the entire team came  and introduced themselves before they went into surgery. What a wonderful experience if you have to have surgery. Dr Siegel is a great surgeon.  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google.  Excellent surgeon! I had a very large hiatal hernia that I had neglected for years! Dr. Siegal used minimal invasive surgery techniques that made the whole procedure and recovery tremendously better than a prior hernia surgery that I had 18 years ago! A big reason for waiting so long to fix this hernia was fear of constant pain again!
He also addressed the prior hernia surgery area and cleaned that up and relieved the pain of that area that I had dealt with for 18 years!
I am currently pain free in both areas and am able to enjoy a nice meal again without the pain that use to accompany it!
He's also there for follow up treatment and listens attentively to concerns that I have!
I am planning on using Dr. Siegal for follow up preventive procedures that are recommended for people over 60!
I would recommend him strongly for any surgical procedures and for his follow up and the quality of care that Dr. Siegal and his staff provide!

My husband had surgery and Dr Siegel was wonderful. At the consultation he explained everything so well and was straightforward which we really appreciate. He’s got a very nice manner about him. As an M.D. with 49 years of practice behind me and over 100 surgical assists, I think I'm a good judge of surgeons. Dr. Steve Siegal is at the top of the class in my opinion. Most important is his surgical expertise. Judging from the excellent result of my hernia surgery and quick recovery, Dr. Siegal did a perfect repair. I'm now 5 weeks post-op and have no restrictions. There was no discomfort after the first week and very little during the first week, as he predicted. I'm now doing full abdominal resistance training and going all out on the tennis court. In addition to being a fantastic surgeon, Dr. Siegal is caring, communicative, thorough, kind, HONEST, humble and reassuring. It was a pleasure to be under his care from day 1 to day 30. My procedure was laparoscopic with a mesh and I'm thrilled that I was back to 100% after 4 weeks. The quick recovery was critical to my decision to get this done. I've heard stories of 6-8 week recoveries after even laparoscopic surgery so kudos to Dr. Siegal for getting this injury into my past after only 4 easy weeks. I recommend Dr. Siegal with enthusiasm!

Dr Siegel is by far one of the best Drs I have had in many years, he is extremely knowledgeable and he took time to make sure that my procedures was fitting, Dr Siegel met personally with the insurance company to explain the treatment I needed and I can never thank him and his staff enough. I wish that I could go to Dr Siegel for everything but since I can’t I will take him as a gastro surgeon any day a million times over. I had the unfortunate experience of needing emergency surgery while on family vacation visiting my son, and I couldn’t be more thankful that I was in the hands of Dr. Steve Siegal. From the moment I arrived at the hospital, Dr. Steve Siegal demonstrated both professionalism and genuine care. In a stressful and frightening situation, he took the time to explain the procedure, answer my questions, and made sure I felt as comfortable as possible before the surgery as well as talking to family about my care. His calm and reassuring demeanor gave me a sense of confidence that I wasn’t just another case to be handled but a person being cared for with true attention. The surgery itself went smoothly, and I’m recovering far better than I expected. Dr Steven Siegel did a great job with my minor surgery. He and his office were kind and very easy to work with. He coordinated with another surgeon to do both surgeries at one time saving me a second hospital trip, anesthesia, and recovery. Highly recommend.

Dr Siegel did my robotic colorectal reversal surgery this week and he was wonderful and the surgery went well with no complications. Other doctors had looked at my record and said it was a difficult surgery to do because of my other health problems but he said he would be able to do it robotically. The surgery only lasted 2 hours and my recovery is going very well. No surprises and I have been given pain medicine to help. I didn't think I was ever going to get rid of my colostomy bag and had problems with it which caused me to come to the hospital with an emergency because it was blocked. I definitely recommend Dr Siegel because he is kind caring and answers all your questions and wants to make you happy. I am Susan Bair and I thank God everyday that I found him when I came to the hospital with an emergency. I will be forever grateful for what he did for me.

Dr. Siegal and his office staff are very pleasant, polite and extremely professional. Over the past five years I began to throw up almost everything I was eating. Dr. Frank, my gastroenterologist during a routine endoscopy saw a hiatal hernia that no previous doctor (believe it or not) saw. He recommended I see Dr. Siegal. I was able to get an appointment. Dr. Siegal sent me for preliminary testing. My hiatal hernia was preventing my food from fully entering my stomach. Dr. Siegal told me in a manner that made me feel comfortable that robotic surgery was the way to go. Two weeks ago he performed the procedure and now I'm eating food again without any issues. Dr. Siegal is a very well trained surgeon and has (as they used to say) "Great Hands" which is what you want from the doctor who is about to operate on you. Best of luck to you all, but you won't need it with Dr. Siegal.

I had emergency surgery to remove my gall bladder 2 weeks ago. Dr. Siegal performed the surgery and Sarah Donnelly, PA, assisted. I cannot thank them enough for helping me in this crisis. They made sure my husband and I were well informed throughout the diagnosis and subsequent procedure. In my post-op recovery I have experienced very little discomfort. I cannot thank them enough. Dr Siegal performed a laparoscopic procedure on my wife who was admitted to Gulf Coast Hospital. She had a colon resection approximately 7 years ago. Dr Siegal has a great bedside manner. If you ever need gastro help, Dr Siegel and his staff have the skill and desire to make you well and whole again. Dr Siegel's knowledge of the human body and skill with robotic repairs internal to the body left minimal incisions for quicker healing. I only needed pain meds the first night home. He was challenged by a Remede centralized sleep apnea device in my chest with electrical leads going to my diaphragm and he did amazing work despite the unknown. Give Dr Stephen a try... You won't regret it.
